Activities
MusicMusic has always been synonymous with life in Scoil Mhuire. Our former Principal Ms. Mairéad O Flynn was a very established piano player and led our school choir on many occasions. We will always endeavour to continue with this proud tradition. Our choir will perform at school masses, carol services, for senior citizens days and all school sacraments. We have in the past and hope to continue performing with the Peace Proms children's choir.
We are very lucky that one of our staff members teaches Tin-Whistle on an after school basis. Further information can be found by contacting the school. |
SportThis year we entered the Kildare boys soccer competition. We made it all the way to the final but missed out on victory. Our boys U11 football team were narrowly defeated in the semi final this year. Our U11 Girls team played very well in their league also. We will have a boys U 10 & 13 team this year and a girls senior team.
We also hope to establish a basketball team within the school. Of course swimming is a big feature of our PE Curriculum and each child from 2nd class to 6th class attends swimming lessons in Naas as part of a 6 week programme. |
STEMThe importance in STEM education cannot be stressed enough these days and we in Scoil Mhuire hope to promote this as an integral part of what we do while our pupils attend our school.
We have ipads and laptops at our disposal and children use them as part of the learning process. |
