Education is our Passport to the Future
Vision
It is the vision of Scoil Mhuire that all pupils reach their full educational potential. We aim to promote self-esteem and self-worth combined with a respect for the rights of others, developing tolerant and caring members of society. Pupils are encouraged to develop their expressive and creative abilities. Primary education is seen as a partnership with pupils, parents, teachers and management working together with common objectives. Ethos
Scoil Mhuire is a Catholic school which aims at promoting the full and harmonious development of all aspects of our pupils: intellectual, physical, emotional, cultural, moral and spiritual including a living relationship with God and with other people. Scoil Mhuire promotes a philosophy of life based on a belief in God and Jesus Christ. Scoil Mhuire provides religious education for our pupils in accordance with the doctrines, practices and tradition of the Catholic Church and promotes the formation of pupils in the Catholic faith. While we embrace the Catholic faith, we welcome and embrace the children of all creeds. |
Mission
In Scoil Mhuire we aspire to create an environment that is welcoming and safe for all our students, parents and staff. We will endeavour to ensure that each child and staff member feels accepted and that their individuality and uniqueness is respected. We will actively promote equal opportunities for all. In our school, we will strive to build healthy, mutually respectful relationships among pupils, staff and parents. To this end we will aspire to create a positive partnership with all the parents of our students in ensuring we are addressing all the needs of our pupils. We do not see education as the passing on of knowledge and skills but rather the development of the whole person. Building self-esteem in each individual is central to all our teaching, communication and inter-actions. We will encourage independence, self-confidence, self-motivation and self-esteem so that our pupils are happy with themselves, others and the society in which they live and will one day potentially lead. We will strive to encourage our pupils to reach their full potential, not a potential set by us, but one set by each individual child as we prepare them for the next chapter on their educational journey through life. |
